Frequently Asked Questions
Do you sell all the aftercare products I’ll need?
When you get tattooed at Black Velvet we will provide you with extra Hypafix Bandaging for you to wear during the healing process.
We will also provide you with an "aftercare sheet" via text, Airdrop or email so you always have it.
(who needs paper anyway)
I want a tattoo but I’m on a limited budget. How do you determine pricing?
Our studio is $140/hr.
It's best to let us know when you're booking your appointment if you have a budget. We will be able to set you up to do many small appointments so it is easier to pay for or make a design that won't go over time in your budget.
How do I prep to come in, what should I expect?
When you are getting ready for your tattoo get a good nights sleep. Don't drink heavily for a couple days before getting tattooed- you may be bleedy, Gross! Aside from bleeding a little extra your tattoo may not heal as well.
Drink lots of water so your skin is hydrated, wear dark, comfortable clothing and eat lots the night before and morning of the appointment. It's also good to bring a couple little snacks and some juice incase you get a sugar crash! ...nobody wants that.

As far as what to expect, when you get to the studio we will sit down together and go over the design, make any changes that need to be made and set up for your tattoo. We will not tattoo you if you are not satisfied so no worries. This is a fun and relaxed experience, don't stress too much!
What's new with covid?
Not too much changed on our end! We have always been so super clean that the only new thing you need to worry about is bringing a face mask.
Obviously if you are sick please do not come to our studio - we have immune-compromised staff!
-Please do not come early to your appointment as we can not have you sitting inside.
-Please come alone to your appointment.
-Unless it is 100% necessary do not have people coming to meet you at the studio.
